Priere Notre Dame Prayer Our Lady church organ music subwaysleuth boellmann french romantic period preludes classical religious
Description: Boellmann: Suite Gothique, movement II. Played on an Allen Organ, by Sylvester Wager. I am not pleased with these files, which can't have titles or the sound gets far worse - I used Roxio 10 as my program. Suggestions on how to record classical, esp. organ music appreciated. (mea cupla: I used a Canon Powershot A460) |

subwaysleuth ::: Favorites 2008-01-08 20:31:07 Messiaen: I played all but Mr. 9 of The Nativity. Unforunately, I don't have access to an organ to practice on - it pains me to let these go public, for they need work. If I get the strength to really record, I have hundreds of pieces in my rep that span the history. Priere: I did some listening. There are several opinions, and I would like to try this again much slower. Thanks for bringing it to my attention. __________________________________________________
NecronHasan ::: Favorites 2008-01-08 17:37:32 Hm... listen to the version of Christian von Blohn (CD: Symphonic Organ Music from France). It is a bit slower than your version. Or maybe listen to the version of gmcausland (but i don't like the end with the chimes ^^)... If i find a good Organ, then i will record it. Do you know Messiaen? One of my favorite composers. Maybe you could put in a video playing his music? __________________________________________________
subwaysleuth ::: Favorites 2008-01-07 14:16:19 Interesting comment. Most organists would lambaste me for taking it too slowly! Especially the middle section, which is clearly marked, faster. A good organist once showed me the "Catholic" way of playing it, which is much faster (and possibly disingenuous). I may see what I can do with it. It can not bend much more, no matter how romantic without losing the inner pulse. This will be one argument. If you know a slower interpretation that you admire, tell me about it. __________________________________________________
NecronHasan ::: Favorites 2008-01-07 08:39:20 you could play it much slower. Play it like a prayer and feel it! It is a romantic piece with lot of expression __________________________________________________ |
