The mark was achieved not in a regular race but in a time trial. This video was posted originally in the short-lived site www.swimvideo.ru. Probably you won't find it elsewhere on the web.

Cause the waves would kill Alex´s World record attempt. You swim faster when not having waves (spelling?) on the sides of you. I think schoeman would got the WR (he was 0.05 away) if he swam the same way (empty lanes on your sides). But on the other hand Popov din´t have any suit so... Anyway Nystrand will break this WR soon/in the olympics.
