Description: High Ground Circuit Description: This track shares some qualities to High Ground Short yet adds in a circle around the damaged bunker. The track is based more on the driver's ability to control the Mongoose tight and strong then speed. Whenever the player gains any bit of speed he/she is required to turn and yet contain a high rate of speed. For example, when circling the bunker, if the driver is too close to the bunker the mongoose slows down from the hill but if the driver is too far and and/or turns sharply speed will be lost. Best Played: Three to Five laps Track Overview: http://useruploads.mythica.org/image/High_Gorund_Circuit.jpg In the Halo 3 Beta whenever I am just cruising around in a Mongoose I just can't shake the feeling I want to race with them. Sure, you might have a simple race from one place to another, but I want more. I want a true track with guidelines and a path. So I made some up. From all of the maps in the Halo 3 Beta, High Ground is by far my favorite and it just screams 'race track' to me. Whenever I was in a Mongoose in a losing game on that map I just did laps around various obstacles. However, with the introduction of Custom Games I was able to fulfill my desire to formulate a true track. In fact, I was introduced to one track by some people on my Friends list and I was able to do a few races with them. Let me tell you, it was a blast. After those few memorable races I wanted more. I drove all around that map in a Mongoose and formulated some of the most fun track I could think of. I want to share some of these tracks and races with members of the 'Halo Nation' so I could get some feedback and ideas about my tracks. If there was a true way to do vehicles races in Halo 3 customs I think I would cry, figuratively. Mongooses are possibly the best introduction to Halo 3 so far. I just love hoping on one and cruise all around. Below are four tracks I have constructed. Each has a description, basic map overview, and a link to a YouTube video of a lap or few being played. I have done my best to think of the best variety of tracks in my first run of ideas. The only tracks I have constructed so far are only on High Ground due to its easy to learn layout, abrupt turns, and variable landscape. However, I plan on updating my track list to include a few more from High Ground and some from Valhalla. I was attempting to conceive a few tracks from Valhalla by an aerial view, but with so many possibilities I wasn't sure what to do. If you can think of any great tracks for Valhalla or High Ground that I have not done, then could you please just vaguely sketch the path on an aerial view of High Ground or Valhalla. If I like it enough and it plays well then I might make a sketch of the track and film it and then post it on YouTube. I hope you enjoy. There are other race tracks posted on youtube that are either given a test lap, explained, or even raced on. There are users like cole20072006, Reyna711, x1xBLADEXx1x, and 13yaroza, that have posted great tracks in my opinion. even thought this is beta, you should have known better than post this. __________________________________________________ | |
