Blood and Oil Bush Iraq Saddam energy MEF Gulf War Peak Jimmy Carter Addiction Wolfowitz Cheney Greenspan Eisenhower
Description: http://www.bloodandoilmovie.com Against the chaotic backdrop of the spiraling death toll in Iraq, mounting outrage over rising gasoline and oil prices, and new questions about the Bush administration's justifications for going to war, Blood and Oil details how U.S. energy and national security policy have become virtually inseparable. Based on Michael T. Klare's critically-acclaimed book of the same title, this documentary untangles the dangerous relationship between unstable global oil supplies, skyrocketing rates of global consumption, and America's increasing reliance on military force as an instrument of energy policy. |

Hopeful71 ::: Favorites 2007-12-18 06:51:28 Cool, but just to be clear, fuel cells are not a new source of energy but more like a battery. They are still only as clean as the energy used to create them. We would need a clean renewable source of energy like solar, geo-thermal, wind, hydro, nuclear, etc to create the fuel cells. I think concepts like bio-fuels will be a far more cost-effective, clean, and renewable way to approach powering our vehicles. Switchgrass has some amazing returns on energy. __________________________________________________

maryfrances12 ::: Favorites 2007-10-16 16:05:40 Oil has always been a political football, just watching this trailer reminds us of this fact.We need more hybrid cars but Detroit is slow on getting these manufacturered. __________________________________________________
UnderseaCaveman ::: Favorites 2007-10-07 23:30:49 The likes of Palast can't see Global Peaking as a time-series of regional peaks. Nor do they seem to grasp the geologic reality that new discoveries have been in decline for 40 years, while Oil Demand has grown relentlessly. Big Oil producers have had 50 yrs to figure out "hey, let's feign an oil shortage"...and they are just coming to that understanding now? I don't think so, Peak Oil is real! __________________________________________________
UnderseaCaveman ::: Favorites 2007-10-07 23:21:43 Greg Palast is in "left field" on Oil Subject.... Sorry, I think he is way of course. He is totally ignoring all historical regional peaking! __________________________________________________
belmont14 ::: Favorites 2007-10-07 10:25:01 Blood for Oil! Yes! I support trading American lives for barrels of oil. Does anyone here agree with me? If its true that I traded my active participation in politics (voting) for a passive participation in politics (material consumption or dollar voting) then one can argue that every time I fill my gas tank I am consenting for the continued occupation of Iraq and supervision of its oil reserves. __________________________________________________

salim201 ::: Favorites 2007-09-27 20:13:50 when and where was the greenspan interview from, that must have been very recent? __________________________________________________
bigsid920 ::: Favorites 2007-09-27 11:29:53 Read BBC reporter, Greg Palast's book Armed Madhouse. The war in Iraq is all about keeping oil in the ground, thereby, keeping the prices artificially high. __________________________________________________ |
