Description:

Heres a valuable lesson on changing a song from one key to another key, ie from C to F, and learning the 3 basic chords you would use in each key. I recommend you copy down the changes like I did in the video, and keep them handy. Also practice doing some very simple songs in C, then try to play it in the other keys. Maybe hard at first, but with some hard work and patience, youll get it. Let me know how you make out with this, and if you have any questions, drop me a line. My lessons are available on DVDs on my website at www.mrmusiccanada.com With the DVDs you can play them on your tv, which makes it easier to learn from. Good luck with this lesson. Brad

I understand this video a little. You are saying that if there is a c chord in the key of c and you want the key of e, change it to an e chord. I have more questions about the chords but the question that comes up immediately is what about the melody keys? Do they change and how?

yes, you can play any chord, different ways, but its always the same notes. For example a C chord can be C E G,,,,or it can be E G C,,,or even G C E. Alot depends on the song youre playing, what sounds best, and whats the easiest one to use. Sounds like youre working hard on the lessons, thats great. Brad

Lifewasters figured out what I wanted you to do, which was see if you could figure out the alphabetical system you use to get the chords. Thanks to Lifewasters for posting it, and I hope alot of others figured it out too. Brad
