anyway, I'll be sure to pick up this book when I get a chance! Addresses a topic that is something I borderline obsess about everyday: freedom (from all standpoints: existential, spiritual, financial... they're all interrelated aren't they?)

It's like Kierkegaard's emphasis on the individual, how truth is subjectivity, meaning that what is most important to an existing being are questions dealing with an individual's inner relationship to existence. Sounds a bit solipsistic, but detached and "objective" agents of society can never truly comprehend (and thus can never "enslave") the individual's relationship to existence.

I like this. A lot. The idea of finding freedom through internal means (placing the responsibility and control in your hands) versus external means (placing yourself in the victim position). And we all know that there is nothing more psychologically crippling than a chronic victim mentality.

I read this book too and I liked it a lot. Another very good self-help writer that you should check out if you have not already is Robert Ringer. His best books IMO are Looking out for #1, Million Dollar Habits, and Getting What You Want: The Seven Principles of Rational Living.
