No Jesus, No Peace. And yes, that might change things, wouldn't it?

Well the text is different, and when the text changes, the context must follow suit. I really liked this video, and I can't really find anything to disagree with. Great job.

Wow, amd I glad I found your channel. I believe that context is indeed the key, and that the meta-context you ask about in this video is your own values and purposes: action. The truth is not "out there", nor is it entirely subjective. It is the facts of reality, and your identification of them applied to the context of potential action.

My formal definition is: "that which allows identification of the cause that will produce a desired effect". Searching for capital-T Truth and meaning only in the universe is futile. Searching for it without any regard to reality is just wanking.

Similarly Russel's paradox is that the set of everything must still include whatever it excludes. Thus, you cannot base 'meaning' on a set theory (like taxonomy). If it helps my best guess is: knowledge is absence, and meaning is knowledge with a purpose.

Have we tried to define context? I think Az is right, If my understanding is correct, that our brains store context. My point is that "words" or language are simply agreements on addresses for filing context.

I'm going to repeat myself in a video response, but to those who are suggesting that we can "make up" context, or meaning. I disagree. Meaning is determined by the desire and volition of the person attempting to communicate. And context is all the information stored about an experience or a perception of reality.

"I come not to bring peace, but to bring a sword" Jesus said that. Was Jesus really THAT peaceful? heh. Perhaps he wasn't. But then again, if something doesn't sound "right" in the bible then it MUST be metaphorical. As they say. Do i misunderstand this quote? Really though, the world IS meaningless, but when we MAKE UP the a meaning for it, doesn't that mean its only meaningful for whoever made up the meaning for ti?

Of course. The interesting bit comes in when it stops being meaningful for that person, or the person changes that meaning. The point is there's nothing solid or certain about meaning.

Something appear meaningful to one person and the same situation appear meaningless to another. Meaning at a point in time could be an individual interpretation. Meaning trough emotion or meaning trough reason. Think everything is meaningful from the viewpoint of interference, because then it serves an overall purpose, in know of it or not, in find it or not. Then again, I can only speak from my own interpretation. :/
